PROVIVI
The University is involved with Research & Development activities in association with several industrial houses. It is a pride for SSU that PROVIVI, an Internationally reputed USA based commercial organization, has selected this University for being associated with the performance assessment activities of one of their upcoming products dealing with mating disruption of yellow rice stem borer through use of pheromone biotechnology. On-farm trials on this product are being carried out across the country covering different States like West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. SSU is coordinating the entire work program for this prestigious project with an annual outlay of about Rs.10 million.

Assessment of the efficiency of a Bio-Stimulant on Aquatic Productivity
In addition, Krishi Rasayan Private Limited, a PAN India agro-industrial house, has also entrusted the School of Agriculture of SSU for implementing a work program on assessment of the efficiency of a bio-stimulant on aquatic productivity.

Study on Magnitude of Carbon Sequestration in the Mangrove Soils of Sundarbans
As the world is struggling with the hazard of climate change, one key mitigation measure for such problem is considered to be lowering down the levels of carbon di- oxide in the atmosphere. Under this context, the University has taken a humble step by initiating a study on magnitude of carbon sequestration in the mangrove soils of Sundarbans.
